Te Omanga Hospice is a community-supported, community-focused charity providing specialist palliative care for people living with a terminal or life-limiting illness across the Hutt Valley. Thanks to the generosity of local people, businesses, volunteers and donors, we are able to deliver holistic, wraparound care that supports not only patients with life-limiting illnesses, but also their whānau and loved ones.
Our dedicated team cares for the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of those we support, helping people live as well as possible for as long as possible. From expert clinical care and counselling to family support and bereavement services, Te Omanga Hospice walks alongside patients and whānau every step of the way, ensuring no one faces their journey alone.
Te Omanga Hospice is a true example of community supporting community, it holds a special place in the hearts of many people. One in three people who die in the Hutt Valley are supported by Te Omanga Hospice and while funded in part through Health NZ contracts, around half of the funding needed to provide these vital services must be raised from the community each year. The generosity of donors, volunteers, businesses and supporters across the Hutt Valley helps ensure that Hospice care remains free and available to everyone who needs it, now and into the future.
